We had zero experience in building or renovating, so whilst it was an exciting idea knocking down our inner city semi-detached house and rebuilding it, it was daunting for our young family.

From the minute we met George and Judy, we knew they were right for us. They had a no nonsense approach and were completely transparent in what the building process involved.
Their communication was always prompt, they were always on time for our meetings (which to us is important), and we just felt an instant rapport. Needless to say, engaging Solid Built was the best decision we made throughout the whole process.
Solid Built provided support to us on practically every single aspect of the build. To us novices, it was an enormous relief to have a builder who we completely trusted and who knew how to bring our vision to life.
The build itself, we had been told, could be stressful, but truthfully with Solid Built it was such an enjoyable process. George has meticulous attention to detail and a wealth of knowledge on all things construction. Solid Built’s team of subcontractors work seamlessly together, and George is across absolutely every aspect of the build. It’s truly incredible watching it come together.
Judy has a great eye for styling, which she has clearly refined over years of building new houses. She also has the best contacts in the industry, and will work tireless to find the right lights/cabinetry/stone/finishes at the best prices.
Throughout our 9 month build, countless times my husband and I said to each other “thank goodness we chose George and Judy at Solid Built”.
If we are fortunate enough to ever build again, without hesitation we would partner with Solid Built. We have no hesitation in recommending Solid Built.

We found Solid Built through HI Pages after we were let down by another building company. What a stroke of luck for us! George and Judy operate a highly professional business. George’s attention to detail and perfectionist streak coupled with Judy’s behind the scenes coordination and project management skills made for a truly enjoyable and rewarding experience for us as first-time renovators. They treated our property as their own, adding little improvements along the way and taking the initiative to fix up some pretty serious issues that were discovered along the way (rather than turning a blind eye and covering them up). The A-team at Solid Built impressed us right from the start. They were highly responsive, detailed and had a thorough approach to follow up throughout the entire project. Judy was always on hand to provide information to all sorts of queries and went the extra mile of organising supplies saving us time and money. During the entire project, George was always present to manage his team and they all know his unrelenting level of detail and standard that he expects.
Even when things don't go to plan (as they always do), George is always one step ahead of the game. I have known George and Judy for many years having used them for my last two renovations and new build and actively recommend them to everyone I know.
It is not often that you finish a major 9 month build with a closer relationship than when you started with your builder! Everyone is aware of the horror stories that people go through and yet George and Judy (and Dave) collaboratively and proactively project manage and lead you through the journey together so that all the timescales are hit. When things don’t go to plan (which they don’t always), this is when you really know you have the right team in place. The passion, focus and hard work they show to get every little detail right for you is quite frankly the benchmark – they even challenge the thinking around residential vs commercial fittings to save you money to spend elsewhere on the job. My architect was challenged so much on his detail, vision and measurements that he even approached George rather than the building company he worked with to build his house! George is also tough on the tradies around him and leads by example to get you the best result.
From experience, don’t get drawn into the glossy marketing pitch from other building companies. When it comes to the crunch you need good builders and not a company who will look to change the goal posts half way through a job. If you want to get the job done properly from start to finish and with trust, George and Judy are the team to go with . Without even blinking I will be using them in the future. Furthermore I would be happy for anyone to contact me if they have any doubt.

I tell people about our experience and people can’t believe it. I keep getting comments like “ I have never heard of a renovation running on time let alone finishing early!!”.
We have heard of some terrible horror stories about people completing a home reno’s, and we have gone into this project hoping and praying that we are not going to add to those statistics. Thanks to you and to George we can actually share the fun, excitement and reward we have experienced through the last few months.
You are both extremely professional and extremely dedicated to what you do and you have a lot to show for it. It was a wonderful feeling yesterday when we moved back in to Lookes Ave. The transformation is incredible, and now it looks like a truly modern apartment.

It is tough looking for a reputable builder in the maze of the property renovation market. As such we went with the advice of a family friend who had fully researched references for Solid Built and highly recommended them to us for our renovation.
Despite this recommendation, Judy, George and the team exceeded our expectations by delivering on all 3 components of the renovation triangle - quality, on time and on budget. We loved the fact that George project managed everything with Judy on the project around what we actually wanted (rather than what a builder thinks the client wants), and their general client relationship, open style of communication and attitude is second to none, taking time and stress out of the process.
We have since sold our house for more than we expected and have begun embarking on our next project where we hope to use Solid Built again. I actively recommend Solid Built to all my friends and colleagues.
